Travelling the Internet you see all sorts of things, meet all sorts of people… here are some that I liked, that influenced my craft or helped me along the way, or stuff that I found beautiful or helpful, or both! Enjoy, and if you have any additions to suggest let me know! PS: nobody pays me for this page – it’s all out of the goodness of my little heart 😅 and neither is it in any precise order! I am going to update this page pretty often as there are lots of amazing people and incredible inspiration out there 😎
Designers
Spotted Zebra Engravings: A Canada-based enterprise that makes the most wonderful tags for craft projects, and much more! Thera is a wonderful person, the service is excellent and tailored to your needs, and the end result amazing! I loved shopping here!
Daisy Boo Creations: Suzy is easily one of my favourite designers for wraps and shawls (which I love to make). Her Emmeline Wrap is a joy to make and the Painted Daisies Wrap I made was a huge success. Check her out!
Morben Design: Jasmin is an awesome shawl (again! I guess I’m slightly addicted to them) designer and writes beautifully clear instructions. Recommended to advanced beginners and over.
Wilmade: Apart from being a thoroughly lovely person as far as I can see, Wilma is an amazing designer and her shawls are (generally) simple and (always) elegant. The Ana Lucia Shawl I made was very enjoyable and it’s in my “to-redo” list.
Annie Design Crochet: I met Carmen on Instagram and I was struck by her easy yet elegant creations. I made a rainbow Halo Shawl which built up in no time and I loved the result. Well worth a visit!
Hooked on Homemade Happiness: Last year I stumbled across Breann’s Crochet for a Cause (which she is repeating this year, by the way, so go check her website!) and made a few hats to donate. I learned a lot in the process and I cannot thank her enough!
Suppliers
Crochet_uk.co.uk: I stumbled across Mel’s shop a while ago on Instagram and was impressed at the quality of her yarn cakes. They are the best behaved I’ve ever used – not a yarn barf so far, and the tinies knots in the colour changes! She also offers the possibility to create your own cakes. Give her service a try!
Hobbii.com (also Hobbii.it): one of my favourite yarn suppliers so far. I love the larger cakes like Twirls and Twister and they always have good prices.
Instagram profiles I like (a growing list!)
@vpncreations – so talented, it’s always a joy to see her makes
@ajdesigndk – mostly written in Danish, but oh so wonderful makes!
@bubsandbearcrochet – colourful and cute makes, and a lovely lady too!
@pandascrochet – don’t miss her mandalas. Seriously, they’re too beautiful for words!
@saltyseadogdesigns – I follow them purely for the enjoyment, as they make mugs and pottery and I wouldn’t risk having anything delivered down here (sigh!) but check them out, really, they’re too cute. I also love it when they broadcast from their workshop as I find pottery fascinating!
@anniegurumi – fantastic inspiration (and patterns) for amigurumi. I don’t make them often but I like her posts 🙂
@theknottyboss – sooner or later I’ll get her PDFs!
