Double-sided body sponge

A super easy make, perfect for beginners, and very useful too!

A close-up of the first body sponge I’ve made. Better pics soon!

Here’s how it’s done:

Make 2 round shapes.

Ch4, slst to close (or magic ring), ch2 (does not count as dc)

Round 1
10dc in ring, slip stitch (10st)

Round 2
Ch2 (does not count), 2dc in each stitch around (20st)

Round 3
Ch2, 2dc in each stitch around (40st)

Round 4
Ch2, *2dc, 1dc around (60st)

Round 5
Ch2, * 2dc, 1dc, 1 dc around

Round 6

Ch2, dc around

Add one more of you want a larger sponge. It will curve slightly – it won’t really matter when the rounds are joined together.

Sew (or slip stitch, or sc) the two pieces around leaving a space at the bottom to fit your hand. If desired, attach yarn at the top and chain 15-20, then slst to close and create a loop to hang your sponge.

There! Done! I hope you enjoyed making this bikini top and am looking forward to seeing your finished pieces. Use the tag #supernovacrochet on Instagram or Facebook so I can see and share your work!

I’d appreciate your help to continue keeping up the website and my patterns free, so if you can offer me a cuppa using the orange button on the right I’ll be very grateful! If you can’t, continue sharing my work – this helps me too. Thank you!
